J-QUANT Iron test strips semi-quantitatively measure the iron content of aqueous solutions up to 1000 mg/L (ppm).
J-QUANT Iron 500 test strips can be used to measure the levels of ferrous iron (Fe2+) in ground, drinking, waste, and industrial waters. This can give an idea of any level of corrosion in the pipework or containers. These strips can also be used to measure the ferrous iron content of food and fruit juices if needed.
These strips, however, will not measure the ferric iron (Fe3+) content of any aqueous solution which is the main source of iron in the environment as it forms the primary component of rust. Ferric iron is what in turn causes ground and drinking waters to become brown and smell metallic. J-QUANT Total Iron 100 and 1000 can measure both ferrous and ferric iron individually and the combined content in the same solutions as stated above.
