J-QUANT® Phosphate 500 0 - 3 - 10 - 25 - 50 - 100 - 250 - 500 mg/L PO₄³⁻ 100 strips 224.1

The J-QUANT Phosphate test strip semi-quantitatively measures the phosphate content of aqueous solutions up to 500 mg/L (ppm).

An elevated level of phosphate present in water can indicate the presence of sewage and fertiliser. If this is left to accumulate unchecked, then a process of eutrophication can occur. This is where the water becomes oversaturated with nutrients, particularly nitrogen and phosphorus.

This excess of nitrogen and phosphorus containing materials stimulate the excess growth of algae and can lead to large algal blooms forming. Ultimately, not only are these algal blooms dangerous to aquatic and plant life, but they are also a danger to humans.
