The J-QUANT Sulphite test strip semi-quantitatively measures the sulphite content of aqueous solutions up to 500 mg/L (ppm).
Sulphites are used as preservatives in food and drink due to their oxygen scavenging properties. In particular, sulphite levels need to be monitored in the wine making industry to ensure the quality of the wine is maintained.
Sulphites oxygen scavenging properties are further utilised in process and boiler waters to maintain a level of reducing conditions. These strips may be used to ensure that no overdosing occurs.
