The J-QUANT Tin test kit semi-quantitatively measures the tin content of aqueous solutions up to 500 mg/L (ppm).
Most canned food is made using cans that contain an amount of tin. The amount of tin that leeches is closely monitored as it can adversely affect the taste.
Tin compounds are also used in electroplating baths, as reducing agents and catalysts in chemical reactions used in the textile industry.
